Qatar Online Sports Betting Banking Methods

You want to get started betting on sports or horses, but want to learn about the best services available to deposit and withdraw funds to and from your online sportsbook account.  I’ve outlined the different kinds of banking methods below and the most accepted methods within each category for service in Qatar.  You will see that the most popular methods are generally available across each of the sportsbooks.  If you are interested in understanding the transaction size limits for each method, these vary by sportsbook.  In other words the limit for Skrill or Neteller will be different at each sportsbook.  I cover this on my page on high limit Qatar sports betting.

Note that no reputable sports betting site yet offers direct Qatari Riyal betting.  You will need to select another account currency, and depending on how you will fund your betting account, you will likely look to use a funding source that uses same base currency.  In other words, make sure you only pay one currency exchange fee when buying a new balance of funds with a Qatari Riyal base funding source.  If you buy a prepaid balance, do so in the currency of your betting account.  If you register an e-wallet account, set its currency to the same currency as your betting account.

Note that if you are solely based in Qatar, PayPal is NOT a payment solution that will work with sports betting sites.  Only a small group of countries in the world are able to use PayPal in this fashion and they are mainly located in Europe.

Credit Cards like Visa and MasterCard are accepted by essentially every major online sportsbook.  Depending on your credit card company, your deposit may be treated with online sportsbooks as cash advances, not purchases.  This means that your transaction may be eligible for interest charges from the moment of the transaction.  Check to see if this is in fact the case with your particular card if you wish to avoid these interest charges.  Maestro and Visa Debit and Visa Electron are considered “debit” solutions which allow you to debit funds from your associated bank account, which avoids interest charges.  These Debit solutions are available at most betting sites for Qatar.

If you want to use funds from your bank account directly, this is generally not an issue from Qatar:

Bank Wire Transfers are available at most online sportsbooks and in almost every country of the world, they may be used to transfer funds to sportsbooks companies.  Wire transfers take a little longer to settle as a transaction but this method generally allows for extremely large amounts and is likely the best option for high rollers.

Skrill, Neteller and EcoPayz are three of the names you may have heard about for online payments and transfers.  These are often referred to as e-wallets.  They are very similar in function to PayPal.  With them, you can link a credit card or bank account as a funding source to deposit money into your sportsbook account, or conversely, use them to withdraw winnings.

The benefit of these e-wallet providers is that they allow you to move money electronically for very low fees, in very little time.  Depositing money is nearly instantaneous, and withdrawals are often processed within 48 hours at most betting sites, sometimes, within 24 hours.

An additional benefit of some of these e-wallets is their ability to allow you to access their service from your smartphone or mobile device.  Additionally, most of these e-wallet providers allow for transaction sizes large enough to accommodate the needs of almost every bettor.  All of the above should be available for use in Qatar.

MuchBetter is a mobile e-wallet and payment app that allows you to easily make payments to your betting site of choice (as well as other merchants). Simply download the app, then make payments into the app from your Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards or Bitcoin from Qatar. What are the benefits? Added security features and a layer of anonymity in using this intermediary solution between your Qatar-based providers and the bookie.

Bitcoin deposit and withdrawal solutions from Qatar

If  you would like to fund your betting site account using bitcoin, understand that you can do this, but your account will still be in a normal Fiat currency.  A betting site that accepts bitcoin will exchange your bitcoin deposit for their current exchange rate into your Fiat currency balance.  Most sites that accept bitcoin will convert to a limited number of Fiat currencies like the USD or Euro or GBP, not others, so your betting account would likely need to be in ones of these currencies.
